EU leaders will meet in Brussels for emergency talks about Georgia on Monday (1 September) with their opposition to Russia made firmer by the announcement on 26 August by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would recognise the two breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. more
