Russia: Friendly Words, But Bush And Putin Fail To Resolve Disputes

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush met in the Black Sea resort of Sochi today for their last bilateral meeting as presidents. The upbeat remarks that wrapped up their talks appeared to mark a thaw in the increasingly troubled relationship between the two countries. But despite the friendly words, the two leaders failed to bridge differences on a number of key issues. more
