A warmer fatherland

For about a week in mid-January, Racine resident Molly Hall was on one of those whirlwind speaking tours — six engagements in five cities in five days. Despite her experience in environmental law and history with the U.S. Justice Department, what really qualified her for the tour was her command of German. Hall, 46, toured Europe as a member of the U.S. embassy’s speakers program to tell interested Germans about global warming and what the United States is and isn’t doing about it. more
